Toragami

Toragami is a clothing line that started as a creation for the AIGA Orlando Mentorship, which won "Best in Show." Each shirt design is unique in that it each one will animate with Augment Reality. Each shirt is an original design and screen printed by hand. Toragami is retro inspired street wear, that combines multiple design elements I find interesting.

This promo video was a reel used for the display the booth below. It is a summary of the project and what it holds. It also shows motion graphics as well as the animations used for the augment reality aspect of the apparel.  
BOOTH DESIGN
The goal for the booth was to have everything flow together from design, to way finding, and to user interaction.
SHIRT DESIGN
Each shirt is of my own design and hand screen printed. Each design is also animated with augment reality using an app called Artivive. The app also works with the image on screen, fill free to test it below. A video is located below the designs showing how the app is used to animate the designs. 
The lucky cat, maneki-neko, or beckoning cat is a Japanese lucky charm used to bring good luck. The cats are black which is a color used to ward off evil which plays into the meaning of the word that are written in Japaneses which are "Hear, See, Speak, no Evil." Based off the Three Wise Monkeys, which can be found in shrines in Japan.

This design is based off an antique metal sign which displayed an add for Condensed Milk. I used the typography and made a new illustration for it, as a restoration design. The word in Chinese roughly translate to Condensed Tiger Milk, but I doubt they sold real tigers milk though.

LUCKY CATS
These figurines are 3D modeled, 3D printed and hand painted. The design is based off old fortune telling machines, which featured a character behind a class box which would give you a fortune when you pay it. These cats are also design to give you a fortune, each cat has a magic window in the bottom of them that will answer a yes or no question, like a magic 8 ball.
This video shows you how one of the lucky cats changes colors based off heat, and how they answer your question. 
SNAP CHAT FILTERS 
Social media is a big aspect of today's world, it was important to me to make sure I have a big social media presents for the project, but I wanted it to be more then just photos, so I made my own augment reality filters for media like snap chat.
